barren river night fishing has been worse than terrible this past week. even the seasoned vets of the lake are unable to produce decent fish. i even used my side imaging fish finder to actually zoom in on some bass that were on top of a mound in about 8ft of water, they were close to the bottom and not suspended. i threw plastic worm 10inch, 7inch and finesse at them, crank bait, and spinner bait. can someone tell me or give an idea as to why the bass are like this during the night. daytime and evening fishing is ok. what is a good way to get there attention when they are like this.![]()

Ever hear of buck perry? When everything else fails, speed helps, its a response action. In some cases where you make bottom contact with your crank bait, point your rod at the bait, keep reeling fast and then while reeling sweep your rod fast.Used to be a "spoon plugger"and sometimes was amazed at the speed we trolled at during the dawg days.
never thought of that, but i wish i would have tried it. thanks for the info, and i will definatly use it when i am in that situation again. info and ideas passed down from more seasoned anglers is what keeps this sport alive. so thank you.Ever hear of buck perry?
