    Ohio River Louisville area?

How is fishing in the McAlpine pool Louisville area. Anyone catching fish on the main river? I know Harrods creek has a few fish in it. Any good grass left after the flooding? Just thinking about getting out for a evening or two.

    Thanks in advance!

No amount of water could wash the grass out of that creek.

Read an article in Eastern Flyfisher about McAlpine Pool the other day, didn't say anything I didn't already know but, it did peak my interest as well. I was curious if anyone has been bank fishing or wading at all below the dam there from the park on the Indiana side?

I fish that area as often as I can. They ran 100+ feet of water when we had the flooding and then shut it all off in a span of 3 days. It is dry as a bone right now. Your best bet for fish will come off the Clarksville boat ramp. I went Saturday and had a hard time finding grass on the main river above the dam. Lots of boats in the tournament put on by South Louisville. I haven't found the results yet though. Anyone know what it took to win?

Been doing pretty good up around 14 mile creek on main river. Don't know what your after, but catfish and hybrids have been biting good for a couple weeks. Cats have been laying up around submerged boulders. And hybrids have been nailing lipless crankbaits, anything shiny. I cant help you much with the dam areas.

There is lots of grass - and no need to go much further than 6 mile island upstream. The main river has been coming on strong with the water finally clearing up a little bit. Harrods Creek has been reallly good the last few weeks, but the main river is starting to come on strong now. It's good times on the Ohio right now.

Below the dam has been really slow the last two weeks.
    Worst I've ever experienced.
