    Ky Lake or Lake Fork??

I was talking to my uncle about our Ky Lake trip next spring when he asked about going to fork for 10 days. He went for 2 weeks every year but hasn't been there in 4 years now and wants to go back. My question is should I give up my spring trip to Ky for a chance at a real hog in Texas? I think I should but what do you think?

I think you have a great chance at a hog on Kentucky Lake.

I fish KY Lake a few times every year and catch some big fish, but a few years ago I spent a week at Lake Fork in the spring with a friend who lives down there. I've never seen so many 5,6, and 7 pounders caught in a week. He and the 2 guys in the other boat were very disappointed they didn't land anything over 9 lbs! KY is an awesome lake, no doubt, but every bass fisherman should fish Fork at some point....

This past spring i was having breakfast at kenlake marina and two guys sitting next two me were from lake fork. I talked to them for a while and wondered why they were here? They had different reasons but the most significant was spring on lake fork was unbelievably crowded......so u can make your best assessment.

Of course my vote goes for keeping the money here in Ky...but if I was going to travel all the way to Texas, might as well go to Falcon or Amistad for the chance for really big bruiser.

I agree with Dave on this one totally. The Army Bass Angler Team is based out of Texas and I get REAL sick of hearing about how hard it is to win on Falcon. Poor guys don't even place in 200 boat tournies with 25-26 lbs sacks!!! I fished Fork during the Skeeter Owners Tournament we helped run this year and was not on the lake 10 minutes before I got my first 5 lber. I was excited and they looked at me like "what's the big deal, those are a dime a dozen?". Now I do enjoy a good day at KY Lake, but if I had 10 days to go, I am DEFINATELY in TX! Good luck and best of fishing to you either way you decide!

Fork has a 16 to 24 inch slot and only one fish in a 5 fish limit can be over 24 so the other 4 have to be under 16. Unless everyone is catching 16 and 17 pound fish ( the lake record is 18 ) how are guys not placing with 25 and 26 pound sacks? It would be hard to have a sack over 25 on a lake were 4 of your fish are 2 to 2.5 pound keepers and only one toad.

Just passing on what I know about that lake. That is one of the reasons the big trails like FLW and BASS don't have tournaments there.

The slot limit you're talking about is for Fork. He's refering to tournaments on Falcon.

I stand corrected. I thought he was talking about Fork since the OP was asking about it or KY Lake. I'm going to Falcon in Feb.
