I doubt any information you get now will be useful on the 27th. A lot can change in 2-3 weeks especially with the unseasonably cool temps. The corps. will also start the slow draw on the 15th. Your best bet would be to spend a day or two before the tournament if time allows you to do that.

I thought maybe with the 27th being a Sunday, it might not be so bad...sounds like everyone will be out there on Sunday...probably Saturday as well for practice.

    Re: Advice on rough river

I'm fishing the same regional, and I fished it this time last year. THAT IS ONE TOUGH LAKE TO FISH IN SEPTEMBER!!

I can't offer much advice on lures except for try to catch fish as early as possible in the tournament, because you won't be getting many bites as the day progresses. The only keeper fish my partner and I were able to catch last year came within the first hour of the tournament. After that, the bite turned off.

Good luck to you! We'll see you there!

    Re: Advice on rough river

My gameplane for September on Rough would be, prefish during the week, i.e. Wednesday. This way you know where the fish are holding and you will be in the area that has fish. The lake will be loaded that Saturday and Sunday. My presentation would be to throw topwater early or spinnerbaits. Then get out the jig/worm rod on channel banks or flats adjacent to them. We are doing the Zoneton Crusade tourney on Sept 19th.

Last year the tournament was at the same time and it was won using a..........will post after Sept 19th.

Greg, this might help a little?

But, conditions I'd say will be much different if the weather continues it's cool temps/rain trend.
