What ground are you evening talking about? The old farm? Wouldn't think that there was enough land there for Bass Pro to do anything with...maybe it's the development company that functions under the Bass Pro name? Having ownership of that land could be beneficial, in a few years when things turn around...maybe not so much for a Bass Pro Shops, but maybe for putting a restaurant there...Islamorada Fish Company maybe?

...or maybe an expansion of their boating outlet? Seems to me that their parking lot keeps getting more and more boats in it, many of which are used. I could easily see a boat dealership going in there, because right now there is a lack of a good quality boat service center in Louisville.

I know in Indiana you don't pay tax from BPS when ordering online, just shipping. With Cabelas we have to pay both when ordering online.

    Guys,

Nothing against any of the big stores but I like doing business with the small guy. It cost me a little more but it's nice to go in to a store where you can talk to the same guys year after year. I make a trip to BPS and it is more like a family outing; dinner, maybe a seminar, wardrobe for the year, cooking supplies, baits that I might use. As for the nuts and bolts of fishing I stick with Winchester bait and tackle and Backwaters. They may not have everything I want all the time but I would hate to see them go. Poor old Jack has been around for ever, if he owned the store I know I would not spend money any where else. I cant leave out Fisherman Headquarters down at KY lake. Only been twice but cant wait to get down there in a few weeks.

    Small bait store lover.
