Nice Report Geo - good to hear you had em dialed in.
I had two CO's tell me if they got bored they get close to a ramp and watch the comedy act!
We didn't do too bad Saturday morning up in the river, bite slowed to a stop about 1pm - Sunday was beautiful day on the water - but couldn't scare up anything...
Hey Geo! You mind telling a newby to Patoka some general areas to find smallies? We were there for only 3 hours..........5:30 - 8:30......
We caught 5 fish, had options on 4 or 5 others..........
Biggest fish was a 4lb largemouth.........
BEST fish was a smallie that HAD to be 6+. My buddy fought it for a few minutes, and then she came unbuttoned........
I had an option on another decent fish, but didn't seal the deal.
Were were in the lick fork area, using spinnerbaits, and soft plastics.......I also threw a crankbait for a while, but NO GO.
Later,
Geo
Where is Overlook compared to the dam???? Don't let us rattle you on the big one man, sometimes pics just don't do them justice....either way it was a good fish and a great day. Did you check out the pic of the one I posted???
The point I was talking about is the first major point west of Jackson ramp (I think there is a restricted area northeast of the visitors center and it's the point straight across from that. ). I've heard of them caught at the overlook point just northeast of the dam but I've never had any luck there.
i've caught some of my smallies up painters...and most main lake points hold them
Thanks guys!
