The reason people lose their health insurance is because they lose their jobs. Most people are under an employer based health insurance. When they lose their job they also lose their health insurance. Big corporations and unions are given discount rates. If the president wanted to reform the health insurance industry he could force the insurance companies to offer those rates to individuals. That study also did not state how long people lost their health coverage for either. It was counted as a loss if you changed employers and waited the 30 day waiting period to be covered under your new health plan. Since the president took office 2.5 million jobs were lost and many people lost their health insurance when they became unemployed. Many more jobs will be lost because of the legislation such as cap and trade that he proposes. Still more jobs will be lost due to his wealth redistribution ideas.
