Come'on guys I gotta take up for the original poster here a little. The guy was venting, I've done it,you all have to. I don't think he was griping as much about sharing the lake with big boats as he was sharing it with some serious idiots at times. Not all boaters are unsafe but enough are to make a guy vent once and awhile.

I'll be the first to admit it's lucky for me and the guys driving some of these monster tub wave makers that I didn't have an RPG on board cause I'd be in prison right now and they would be bluegill chum. I fish Cumberland alot and have for years. One of my favorite spots on the lake to fish is in Indian Creek aroung Grider Hill Marina. Cabin Cruiser's GALORE. Most of the fellas that Moor there are seasoned boaters and don't feel the need to go past you with in 200 feet with their bow in the clouds, plowing the field. But every once and awhile you will get one that gets everything in your boat and maybe you to real wet. Some people that own these boats really don't realize they are throwing a wake bigger than any barge on the Ohio has ever even tried to do. Some don't care and those and the ignorant give them all a bad name.

Common sense goes a long ways on the water, and some people don't have common sense. I agree also that yes the law says running your lights at night is illegal. But on those dark nights when nobody is around and there are season ending floaters all over the place they sure make it nice. Also a quick turn on and check of the water in front of you could save a life, yours or someone else's. I'm not saying it's right to break the law but there are times that law could be tweaked a little. Just some food for thought. It's
scary to get rocked like that and take water at night. I had a drunk and his wife try to litteraly swamp me on purpose in Brown Creek once, and I had a witness. I had to keep the boat off of the rocks as I was paralleing the bank then run the bilge for almost 10 minutes to get the water out after they went by. He was cracking up when he went by and swirved over by me less than 30 feet when he went past my boatside, and his drunk wife was having a blast to.

Sorry for being wordy I just sympathize with Barry on this one a little. I do still think the guy that planned a tourney at Cumberland on Poker Weekend needs his head examined though.
