Re: Any Golfers Out There???
Come on guys, there's room for fishing and golf. Heck, sometimes I combine the two! Golf courses have some awesome bass ponds on them! Keep the pocket-fisherman in the bag at all times!
A couple quick casts have produced me some quality bass.
I hit the Nike Pro Combo Tour forged irons with the progressive backs. They go from solid forged backs on P-8, then begin a gradual progressive cavity back on 7-3. I have switched irons many times, but keep coming back to these. I hit taylormade v-steel fairway woods 5 & 7. They are good woods, but I'm looking to upgrade. I have a mizuno bettenarti (spelling?) putter that I love, with a sky blue Iomic grip. I hit Mizuno mp forged wedges, 51, 54, 60. And my true love, a Geek DCT Driver 6 degrees with a 48" Whup-n-Shaft low trajectory shaft (all made in the good old USA). This driver has changed my game! I can consistently hit the ball 300+ with less effort than I could hit my old Titleist D1 250! I wouldn't suggest this shaft unless you are 6'3" or taller (to long shaft). They do make the shaft in a regular 45". Any I always hit the Taylor Made TP Black ball.
My handicap has reduced from a 10 to a 2 over the last year. Lowest round shot this year was a 67 at Crosswinds Golf Course in Bowling Green. Love that course! I have heard that the Dale Hollow State golf course is amazing, and I am trying to get down there to play it. I also enjoy playing at the Barren River State golf course as well as The Crossings in Louisville (friend is the superattendent, so its free). Still trying to get on at Old Stone, but you got to have connections, and I don't! It's the nicest course I've seen out here. Beautiful! And, very, very, challenging from what I've heard. As close to PGA quality as we got. Maybe one day.
