Unfortunately I (you) have to travel outside of KY and go North to get my pick: Norther Pike. Definately a Catch and Release fish but they are a blast to catch and the bigger they are the more fun.

    Re: Only One Species

Wow this is painful. I have gone fishing in the past and never wet a line because I couldn't decide where to go and what to fish for. Thats pretty bad. I am really torn. I grew up wading for smallies and still do with my boy. There is something special about being waist deep in a creek and have a 2 lb smallie jumping all over the place. On the other hand, I love to be on the lake at night with a cool breeze gently blowing and frost forming on the boat as I toss deep diving Gizz 4's up against the bank. The anticipation of feeling that slight tick as a huge striper inhales my Gizz is something that just has to be experienced. I dont' get to fish for stripers much, maybe twice a year if I'm lucky, but I get to go wading pretty regular. I guess I'm going to have to say smallmouthstriper. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Man, this is one tough question!!! I would have to go with the fish I was raised catching since I was old enough to hold a rod.....TROUT! So many species of trout in so many majestic locations. Nothing better IMO than wading a mountain stream with ice cold water and snow caps still on the mountain tops....seeing trout rising and perhaps a moose bathing downstream. Fly rod in hand with my own personal fly on, tied the night before.....Makes me miss home!

REALLY tough question! I'm torn between trout and flounder. I'd really hate to give up either one.
