    Thumbs up Kevin Skinner

Well the unemployed chicken catcher from Mayfield Kentucky won it all last night on America's Got Talent.

That ole boy may not be the greatest singer in the world but he's got heart and I was pulling for him hard. That show is cheesy and I don't watch it much, but this fella was a Kentucky boy, that hunts and fishes and picks a guitar, I love it!

Go Kevin Skinner, you ain't unemployed anymore Hoss!

Don, he sings and plays his guitar, mostly country stuff. The Guy has a heart as big as Lexington and you just can't help but like him and pull for him. He sings from his gut, and America fell in love with the guy, you can just see the pure honesty in him. He can't stop crying because he is just overwhelmed by this whole thing, but hey that's alright to.

Go gett'em Kevin Skinner, Ky Boy in the House!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched the youtube video and no offense but what was the competition like? The winning song he sang was kinda rough....don't you guys think? Great story but was kinda flat...JMO
It will be interesting to see how they polish his raw talent.

God bless him! I'll bet you a dollar the next time you see or hear about Kevin Skinner, you will see unbelievable improvements in his singing and playing skills. When God touches a person it is always for a special reason and it sounds like that guy has favor with God. I apologize for horning in on your thread but I just have to tell you this little story.

You reminded me of Sweetie Pie's singing skills. My eldest brother was a professional gospel singer and when our family got together, I played the piano and we all gathered around to sing and have fun for a while. Sweetie Pie would sit in the recliner with his eyes closed just loving every minute of it. He didn't join in because he couldn't sing a note; his singing efforts were restricted to the shower and he sounded worse than a wolf howling. Many times he expressed a very deep longing to sing and I tried to teach him the things my voice coach taught me but he just couldn't get it.

A couple of years ago, at a "too young age" he had open heart surgery for ten hours. It was one of those surgeries where they stop the heart and remove it from the patients body to fix it. All too often when a patient is placed in a "dead" state, the family doesn't get the same person back they sent to the operating room; there are mental changes and some are not the best. After Sweetie Pie's surgery I saw both the good and bad for a while but as his healing progressed the bad dropped away and the good changes stayed.

One morning while he was taking a shower I heard him singing to the top of his lungs and couldn't believe my ears. I stopped making breakfast to go and stand outside the bathroom and listen........and cried with joy. He was hitting every note to perfection and I've never heard such beautiful singing in all my life; the odd thing is that he wasn't even aware of it. Now he's the one leaning on the piano singing; I see the joy written all over his face and I just burst with pride as I listen to that beautiful voice. He was touched by God during surgery, and a talent was implanted in his brain that cannot be explained. My brother died in an accident 5 months later and it seems as if his talent was passed on to my husband.

Thanks for sharing about Kevin Skinner's good fortune.
