Thinking about heading that way tomorrow morning, anything biting? Whats the water like?
Thanks Lunkerbustin', don't think I'm going to waste the gas due to the weather here. Trackerman, sorry you **** at fishing, if you have some money maybe I can arrange some lessons for you. If not by all means please stay off one of the healthiest fisheries in the state.
Try a worm around the submerged timber close to the bank. Nice and slow.
That isn't from me, that is KDFWR, so if you think you know more about what makes a fishery healthy than the same highly trained biologists that have brought back the wild turkey, whitetail deer, produced the largest elk herd in the east, created and maintain the fishery in the Cumberland tailwater (I can hear you blaming them for the dam now just to have something to say back), not to mention any other piece of water you may have been lucky enough to wet a line in, go ahead and embarrass yourself. Probably one of those folks that tries to fish in the main channel behind a jet ski! If you can't find the fish don't blame it on the lake because they are definitely there.
My info comes from experience, tournament info and fishing biologist reports on this lake. I've fished this lake for 2 years and caught a good number of fish but it is a very hard lake to locate fish. Just go back and look at the tournaments from last year to present. Last year the "hard to beat locals" were weighing in 5 fish limits every Tues. nite, but look at it now 2 to 3 fish will win these tournaments with the same locals. Last year report on the lake said that only 25-30% of people at the tournament were caughting fish. Other lake reported caughting 60-70%. I believe something if wrong with the lake with the numbers dropping like they have. So if the fish biologist are saying it's a the Healthiest Fishery in the State, they need to quit looking at the books and do some, on the lake research.
Colonelmeyer, Didn't mean to make you upset. Let's put both our experience to good use. Let's fish the KECC charity tournament Oct.3 together at Taylorsville. If we happen to win, the money is all yours. All I want is your knowledge on the lake.
I'll use my boat and gas.
Thanks,
Stanley
Ouch.
I think you guys should fish the KECC tourney, either as a team or against each other. I guarantee you'll have a good time, either way.
I suspect you'll find the fish if you can find the shad...
