I put winter fishing instead of FNF just because there are probably more jig juys that fish the winter than FNF guys and want to open it up for all of us IDIOTS that brave the elements to get out there and chase those wonderful Smallmouth Bass in the Winter. The only thing that I am putting on this post that I think is the possible dates for the event, December 18, 19, 20. December 18, Friday night, I could get one of the local restaurants or even the volunteer fire department that was close to Horse Creek to close off a room for us and get Bob Coan, Steve Headrick to speak and maybe get Andrew Robertson to speak as well. All 3 of these guys are well known on FNF and jig fishing. I know I could get Steve to throw in some door prizes from the One Stop and Punisher Lures plus give everyone some sort of weekend discount on fishing tackle bought that weekend plus and new guys to the winter fishing he will offer discount on packages that include rods, reels, tackle and all needed to get you started. I don't plan on cooking breakfast because I am on the water before sunup. Certainly we could all meet Saturday night at an established time for dinner, maybe I can get a restaurant to give us a discount on our meal, to talk about the days fishing and exchange lies and truths, my bet is more lies than truths. No formal tournament, just a set time to get together and meet face to face. This way really the Friday night meeting and Saturday night supper are the only 2 scheduled events for the weekend. Certainly Billy maybe could bring some fly tieing information if people want it and others can offer whatever they want to the program. I am willing to head up and organize whatever but I will say that if we do this it is a WE project. WE need to decide on all the information decide which marina is the main focal point, I suggest Horse Creek due to the accomodations and the fact that the fellas there are super nice and have always been that way. The date that I listed is 2 weeks after the Billy Touney and I think the Smalljaw tourney is being held the week before the Billy so there is a solid 2 week break between 2 big events. It is one week before Christmas, which is not so good from a money standpoint but I can't be involved if we move it to January due to my upcoming surgery. Not saying I need to be involved or I am the focal point just saying if you want me to help organize it, it has to be done in December. I think a week early is too close to the other events for several guys I know will fish both. Opening up for all suggestions. I will suggest that if you do want to attend and Horse Creek is decided on the central accomodation place that all reservations be made with one night paid for in advance by December 1. I don't want to have 25 say they will show up then it only be a couple. I will fish but I don't want to in-convenience Coan, Headrick, Robertson and the restaurant or fire house if we cancel at the last minute.
