Jolly 9/18 Crappie

Crappie fished Friday night at AJ Jolly Lake from 5:30 -8:30 pm. Caught around 10 crappie, had 4 nice keepers around 11". Caught them in 10-12' of water on laydowns, fishing a float and minnow 4-5' deep. Water temps were 72-73 degrees. Lake was down about a foot, good water clarity, 1.5'. Fishing was slow. Only saw one other boat on the lake.

I talked to a man who fished there that lives around the corner from me. He said he uses a black and white 1/8 jig it sort of lookes like a skunk pattern for crappie. He fishes a tree that lays down on the left bank before the dam, he said it is close to deeper water.

I caught some of my crappie off of that tree. i caught most of my fish up near the dam area. I threw a black/chart roadrunner with a charlie brewer slider 1/16oz but didn't have any hookups. They wanted the minnow and then it was s l o w.
