    Grand Canyon

Gonna head to Arizona in a few weeks to see this and then head to Tuscon for a Convention. Anyone ever been to the GC?

We will stay around Williams and drive to the South Rim.

I have been through Arizona/Flagstaff area at least 4 times, but never made it to the Grand Canyon.Beautiful,Wild Lookin' country around there, burn up in the daytime and freeze to death at night. We passed through Bullhead City,Arizona on the Colorado river/Nevada border and the Thermometer read 128 degrees F.

Man I would love to go see that but it will be too far from the South Rim area that we are going to. That has to be an odd feeling being out there.

That's pretty cool. Maybe you could take one of those donkey trips down to the river. Be sure and take pics for us.

Be a good boy at that boondoggle...er I mean convention, awful easy to overdo the cactus juice out there in the desert.

The donkey ride down is fun, but f you have the slightest fear of cliffs WOW. Those donkeys walk on a narrow trail with big drop offs, and its hard to get the smell of donkey off your clothes afterwards, but its alot of fun.The veiws are amazing, You'll enjoy the canyon. You should go to Nogales Mexico while in Tucson too, good shopping there. Post some pics when you get back. Rick

    Re: Grand Canyon

Did a father/son trip in January. Hiked down to Phantom Ranch and spent the night. The bottom of the canyon is part of the Sonoran desert, so it was 20 degrees warmer than the rim. In January, that meant the ranch was 65 degrees, while the rim had snow and ice. The skywalk that someone mentioned is way off the beaten path, not near the south rim, and run by a local tribe. I heard that they nickel and dime you to death (parking, shuttle, etc). Enjoy.
