I've been working on my cousins barn roof and about 11:00 am this morning while beating nails I saw the buck that needs to be on my wall.I'm no expert at scoring, but looking at mounts that have been scored and comparing,I'll say he is well over 150 and maybe closer to 170.
I stopped hammering when he stepped out about 70 yards from the barn into a field with lespedeza in it,he didn't act scared at all until he finally got where the wind carried my scent to him then he mosied down into a cedar thicket.Seems awful early, but I swear he was tailing a doe that came through about 30 minutes before he did.His rack looked good and polished too,no velvet,no more.I haven't saw the first tree rub yet though.
