Transparency, where have you been since August? Thats when the bill was put out for everyone to read and scrutinize. You are technically right about the latest vote about the 72hr rule but thats just a republican gimic. Why do I say that, the bill is in commitee now and every change is made public and there will be debate for a final vote so the republicans as usual have got you guys riled up again. I am not holier than thou, just very informed.

Illegal aliens are covered now, called an Emergency Room plan. Whos blame for that and why havent the republicans stopped it and kicked them out of the country. After all they had 6 yrs for the previous admin to geterdone.

It's been going on longer than 6 years,the rate of Illegal Immigration skyrocketed under Clinton.Even at that it's been ignored for years,Bush couldn't do anything because of the Democratic controlled House and Senate.

The Dimocrats just voted not to post the full version of their healthcare bill on the internet. They had a single dissenting Democrat, Ms. Lincoln who voted with the Republicans. There is a condensed version of the bill on the web, but they don't want us to see the real thing. Looks like we're in for another 1000 page unread bill being pushed into law with no regard for what the majority of Americans want.

Republicans want bills to be posted a minimum of 72 hours before being voted on, but that's been shot down by dims and the most transparent administration in history.

Unprecedented transparency? Another campaign promise that turns out to be a mockery of the truth.

It hasn't been totally shot down, at least not yet. John Boehner's bill (H.Res.554 - Amending the Rules of the House of Representatives to require that legislation and conference reports be available on the Internet for 72 hours before consideration by the House, and for other purposes.) hasn't been voted on yet.

It's stuck in committee. There has been a "discharge petition" filed, that would force it to be voted on. 218 signatures are required to force it to a vote. The blog of the bill's author, Congressman John Boehner (http://republicanleader.house.gov/blog/?cat=53) gives a good description of the bill's status (thanks for posting that link, kyfanatic), and for the record, I agree with it 100%.

There is no bipartisan effort on dealing with the issue. Obviously it's because they don't want to offend the hispanic vote. So they are risking our country's security and costing all of us a buttload of money by leaving the borders open. I say vote any politician who doesn't aggresively deal with the problem out of office. As for the illegal aliens, I say kick them out and secure the borders. What's your stance on this issue slipped?

Aint gonna happen bass. The problem is cheap labor. Im gonna get clobbered for saying this but here it goes. Very few americans will do the jobs they do, farming mostly. I worked on a farm as a kid and young adult, its hard work but I didnt mind it. We have raised a more educated generation that are taught( by us ) to get an education so they wont have to work as hard as we did and make alot of money. This young generation for the most part have never learned a trade and if they did will be ok. But when you go from a deskjob to a tobacco patch, well they aint gonna do it. The rich want the cheap labor and the poor want a ceo job. I say tighten the border and make them legal. Our government would then collect the taxes from them and charge for services they now get for free. Even though I said this is what I would do that aint gonna happen either, too much money involved on both sides of the isle.

Well I agree with your assessment of today's workforce. As I remember putting up hay, tobacco, and detasseling corn and today youth aren't going to touch it. Also it would be a logistical and a monetary nightmare to get rid of all these people as much as I would like to. Your correct that it just ain't gonna happen. However, after closing and securing the border tightly (which should come first) I would require that all illegals register to become naturalized citizens and if they do not have criminal records then they can complete the process. If they don't register within a predetermined time frame from when the law is enacted then they will be subject to immediate deportation. Then anyone found after this is lined out found to be here illegally should be shipped back from where they came. If they want to work here then they should only be allowed in on a work visa and must follow the guidelines of the program. I can relate to what you want to do. Deportation aint a bad thing especially if they want to scam the system. Im afraid theres not enough support for your idea or mine. Aint gonna happen with these legislators.
