We have raised a more educated generation that are taught( by us ) to get an education so they wont have to work as hard as we did and make alot of money. This young generation for the most part have never learned a trade and if they did will be ok. But when you go from a deskjob to a tobacco patch, well they aint gonna do it. The rich want the cheap labor and the poor want a ceo job. I say tighten the border and make them legal. Our government would then collect the taxes from them and charge for services they now get for free. Even though I said this is what I would do that aint gonna happen either, too much money involved on both sides of the isle.
Well I agree with your assessment of today's workforce. As I remember putting up hay, tobacco, and detasseling corn and today youth aren't going to touch it. Also it would be a logistical and a monetary nightmare to get rid of all these people as much as I would like to. Your correct that it just ain't gonna happen. However, after closing and securing the border tightly (which should come first) I would require that all illegals register to become naturalized citizens and if they do not have criminal records then they can complete the process. If they don't register within a predetermined time frame from when the law is enacted then they will be subject to immediate deportation. Then anyone found after this is lined out found to be here illegally should be shipped back from where they came. If they want to work here then they should only be allowed in on a work visa and must follow the guidelines of the program. I just don't think our country can continue staying wide open due to security and monetary reasons.
