    Favorite Fall Technique

Whats everyones favorite fall fishing technique? Since October to me is the best month of the year to catch numbers of fish, I was curious on what is everyones go to bait in the fall. Mine is a shallow running fat crankbait, and a weightless fluke.

I like both of what you just mentioned. But my serious go to is topwater early and late or all day on cloudy day's. Then as the day progresses and we get some wind and make some chop on the top of the water, then my Spinnerbug and the jerkbait gets it's groove on, yea baby, I can't wait.

I agree with you, October is usually a great month. I hope this year is no different, with all the rain and weird weather we've had this year,

My go to is always a Secret Weapon Lures BuzzRBait and quickstrike spinnerbait (blades depend on the current conditions). I usually stick with one color in the morning and one as the day goes on, and will switch blades to match changing conditions.

I'll also have a worm, and jig on deck too.

I was told this a few years ago as as far as i can tell it holds true. In the fall of the year the shad start gathering in schools and become the bass main meal. So i usually use lures that target from the top to about 5-10 foot down and have had great luck. Bass mainly are looking toward the surface for food. But not to say that they can not be caught on worms, jigs, etc. I just catch a lot more toward the surface than on the bottom. Good luck fall fishing everybody,jc

My best friend in Oct is the Jerk. If you knew my friends you'd really be confused to which friend I really meant. I preffer the Jerk bait over cover. I fish the Buck brush and the sloping banks at Dale alot.....so if it's not the Topwater in the morning or evening.....it's the jerk bait til my wrists fall off.

3 rods. 1/4 Buzzbait, 1/4 Jig, and 200 series Bandit

Best bait of all is live crawdads at Barren fishing for football spotted bass.
