Headed down to the big lakes this weekend. Anyone catch'n any bass?
I'm headed down Thursday night also.......
I have no idea what they are doing just yet, but I suspect you will be able to catch plenty of fish transitioning to the back of bays......
If I hear anything, I will let you know...........
Dave Stewart's fishing report will give you a GOOD idea of what and where.....
Later,
Geo
My dad and brother just got back yesterday they didn,t catch them that good. yeah 20 to 30 chokers with 2 or 3 keepers a day no where compaired to 60 a day this spring chatterbaits in blue glimmer and plastics were what they used.
TOUGH, TOUGH, TOUGH, fishing is tough unless your in the mood for short fish then come on down and have a blast. 50-60 shorties a day is NO PROBLEM, catch them on just about anything you throw. high winds today and tomorrow gust up to 30+mph I'm watching the trees bend over right now and I am 2 miles from the lake!!! Yet the strong winds aren't supposed to hit till tonight!!! Fish are everywhere and yet you will feel no-where, there are some to be caught but it changes daily do be prepared to adapt with them. Saturday they didn't want horizontal moving baits i.e. crankbaits.. spinnerbaits were tough yet the spoons were awesome!! Sunday just the opposite!
Fish the lake like it was pre-spawn and you will find fish
the fish should be scattered everywhere from the backs in a foot of water to the ledges. Scattered and suspended feeding on bait fish is hard fishing. Crankbaits and cover LOTS of water would be my suggestion. If not bit then don't stay in one place
Figures, always plan out a trip thats a week too early or a week too late. Just fish and be happy I'm not workin!
This cold front might have them more concentrated in the bays by this weekend. I'm banking on it!
Me too, some hawgs.
does anyone know the water conditions on ky and barkley clear or muddy conditions
Same here was wanting to know about the conditions down south on Barkley of the 68 Bridge?
seen on bbc where th ewinning bag in a tournament last weekend i believe was almost 30lb with 25 being second..i havn't been but know a couple who have been down..like said they were getting plenty of shorties first 2 days, changed up a little and started getting some good fish..big ones were in between, not not in the back but not way out either.
That tournament was about 100 miles south of the dam...on the north half of the lake the bite is still about the same as it has been...see my last report...water temps are dropping like a rock though and did see more movement of shad into the shallows yesterday...
BE CAREFUL TOMORROW, if the Weather Channel forecast is right, it is gonna blow and it is gonna roll.
