Has the recent rains helped Cumberland or is it still slow?

All my contacts says it's very very slow. This has been a sorry year for the Big C for bass. Yes. it's had it's moments but overall most people will tell you it has been a very poor year overall. I'm concerned and I think the Department of Fish and Wildlife aught to do some creel studies and see if there may be an issue going on down there. Alot of dead fish being seen and not all Walleye and Stripers either????

Now mind you somebody is gonna come on here and say they caught 25lb sacks everday for a week, lol, but I'm telling you it's been a tough year even for guys that fish that lake all the time and know how to catch'em.

it has been a lil slow this year and it seems the fish are not as healthy as they use to be. I caught a 20in smally this past weekend and it didnt even weigh 4 pound.

Day time bite has been good all year.. Up until the rains came 20- 30 fish a day was not uncommon , with 5-10 keeper bass the norm. BUT the night bite has been slow for some.

You are winning most tourney's this year down there with that kinda output. If you aren't fishing any you should be cause your numbers sound better than most I've heard this year. I see you are a local, sounds like you gott'em figured out, keep up the good work.

    Re: Cumberland

was out there today...pulled up to my first spot and caught 15-20 lm sm and spots....had a small limit in the boat in 30 minutes or less....then the sun came up and it was like you flipped a switch....caught a few small fish the rest of the day

on a side note i did catch the first two stripers of my life....both in about 4' on a crankbait....now i see what all the striper fuss is about...using a light action baitcasting setup you might as well have tied a freight train on the end of my line....but i landed em both and they were a load of fun....woulda guessed the smaller one at 8-10lbs and the bigger one around 12 maybe...having never caught one had a hard time judging them....but the striper fisherman should have been on em today cuz i all saw em up and feeding all day long....

Congrats Fishin! there is no known cure for Striper fever other than just keep fishing for them.

24" with a limit of 2 a day. If you're fish were as big as you said they should be fine. My neighbor here at that lake got a 44" the other day.
