Nice report. The 4' you talked about, is that shallow water or the depth at which you hooked them. I caught a big smallie a couple of years ago and my boat was in 80' of water. My lure got down 4'.

Likewise, Congrats and thanks for the report. Sounds like you caught them in the jumps? I should have "put off" some of my responsibilities around the house and gone fishing this morning.was out there today...pulled up to my first spot and caught 15-20 lm sm and spots....had a small limit in the boat in 30 minutes or less....then the sun came up and it was like you flipped a switch....caught a few small fish the rest of the day
on a side note i did catch the first two stripers of my life....both in about 4' on a crankbait....now i see what all the striper fuss is about...using a light action baitcasting setup you might as well have tied a freight train on the end of my line....but i landed em both and they were a load of fun....woulda guessed the smaller one at 8-10lbs and the bigger one around 12 maybe...having never caught one had a hard time judging them....but the striper fisherman should have been on em today cuz i all saw em up and feeding all day long....Looking forward to some excellent striper fishing in the comming weeks.

Have been fishing tournaments and doing so so. Last 11 events 7 wins 2 seconds and 2 zero's . Also got big fish 8 times.... Not complaining , Oh and the best part ALL BROWN FISH !!!!!!!! Had a limit in 8 events weighing 16 - 20 lbs each time....
Dang brother, doing so so my rear end, that's getting it done. Like I said you are probably winning some tourney's with that kinda output, seems like I was right.
Love Dem Brown fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually i never saw the two i caught bust the top....but did see several busting all day....i can't imagine a 44"er...guarantee it would be a ton of fun....if any of you fine fellas ever have an open seat id love to get out sometime and give them a whirl
Are you kidding me...I hope to hook into anything besides a log on the FNF this year....you flat out wore me out last year....maybe the tides will turn
"SO SO", KVD does not win 7 out of 11 with 2 seconds and 8 Big fish out of 11 tourneys. Sure wish I could fish "SO SO" in tourneys, I would never go back to working for somebody else.
and the 4' is shallow water....pm me if you want to know exactly where they came from
HA HA I wish I didn't have to go back to work only problem is we have to wait until late july until we can catch them like that. But have smoked them all of august and sept. Got our last night tournament this weekend !!!!! But they stay on this pattern until mid november even during the day then we have to look for them again!!!!!
Of course you must understand the lm Bite has been dead on cumberland. So we always fish for smallmouth. This lake is FULL of 4lb class fish you just have to fish different , keep thinking you only need 3-4 bites and yes sometimes 1 good one is good enough for big fish and second ( 4.5 -5 lbs). But when you find them they are schooled up by size. Many a time we pull up on a spot and catch 3-5 fish all between 3.5-4 lbs.But you may have to fish 20 spots to find them....
I don't know about that. I might have had a slight edge the first time or two, but I think you were doing better than me after you got the hang of it.
