    Airlines!!

Man, I might need to cancel my girlfriends reservation to Phoenix and just found out that I can have a credit for her to take this trip within the next year but no name change is allowed. I thought heck I'll take my daughter but nope! Since 9/11 name changes are not allowed.

Also if the rates increase for this trip at a later date I have to pay the difference and the $150 rebooking fee! This is crazy! If she can't go I'm not going to tell a person just to lock that seat up so they can't make money off it twice, unless they figure it out at the last minute.

The airlines always make me mad somehow and these bully tactics are just another reason for me to NEVER feel sorry for them when they complain of not having money.

I thought you could change passengers for a 30$ fee. Are you sure you cant because we are heading to Vegas and my buddy may not be able to go, ran a rusted wire deep in his leg and its infected. Anyway he said his mother inlaw can use his ticket for a 30$ fee. We are flying southwest and he usually knows this stuff. Im sure you done argued with them but I would threaten to never fly with them again!

Man I don't know how they can do that based upon what I was told. I was talking to Expedia but I'm calling United today. Thanks.

Don, keep calling till you get what you want. You can talk to several different people and get several different answers depending on who you get, and how helpful they want to be. I've had people bend and twist fares/rules to help me out, and I've had plenty of hard liners who could care less. Post 9/11 airline travel is a lot more frustrating and time consuming than it was before. If you can't make it happen, consider calling a travel agent and offering a 'fee' to fix it for you.

I'm really hoping that the concept of smaller companies running air taxis - smaller jets like lear and those new VLJs that are still in development - takes off (pun intended).

I keep thinking that within a few years it will be much more common to book an air taxi than it will to book a flight on one of the major airlines.

It's just so much more convenient that if they can come up with a business model to keep the costs down (or maybe eventually the cost of the big airlines will come up to meet them) people will really jump to fly that way.

Man I just called united airlines and they won't budge. I told the guy what I thought of their policy. Maybe they will play the dang tape for future reference of why people could give two squats about that industry.

    I feel your pain Don...

I'm responsible at work for organizing a big trip for nearly 500 people. It's an annual thing, and in January we are going to Jamaica. We work with a travel agent on the deal, but I have to coordinate full names, birth dates, and passport numbers for buying airline tickets...and with this many people, all kinds of crazy crap comes up. We have a little more leeway because of the size of the group, but there is a lot of CRAP too.

    Airlines ****.

Looks like she is going anyway so the airlines can go fly a kite in traffic.
