You can get a spray for tents at any Walmart in the camping section.
It works pretty good and that's what it's made for.
It's a clear waterproofing liquid in a spray can.
It took two for my 14' boat cover.

P.S. Thompsons waterproofing is 95% mineral spirits.
(worst quality waterproofer out there)
