Since you all have been dating for 4 years, surely you have taken her fishing?! When I met my wife, she said she hadn't fished much and she grew up on a creek! I put her in the creek with a rod in her hand and everything changed after she caught a 2lb smallie!!! Needless to say, she loves to fish and understands my need to fish as well. When we bought a new boat, she said we needed a bigger, faster one!! It will work out if you TRY to make it work. Your marriage will not just happen, it takes a ton of work but it is a plus that you all have been together for 8 years and should know each others' ins and outs. You have different interests which can be a good thing but it can also be a curse-time will tell. "Since we're now husband and wife, can't you come watch me run this Saturday instead of fishing?" It will come up and remember, it is ALL about give and take, if you don't give, you can't take.
Don't be nervous-she should be your best friend by now and I am sure everything will work out for the best. Just do tell her you love her everyday no matter what and store those brownie points as they come in handy at times!!
Best of luck and congratulations!!
Congrats! I'm divorced so all I can say is congrats.![]()
Well I have been married to great women for 42 years and yes it will change when you say I DO. Your first priority will be a family and fishing will move down a notch. Then if you have children fishing will move down the ladder a little more. What you will find is your interest change and you may fish less but you should enjoy both fishing and your life more. Good luck and congratulations.
