I guess the most important question would be where are you looking to catch trout?
Trout fishing in general, for spinning tackle you are looking at cast masters, spinners, jerkbaits, and a variety of bait (salmon eggs, power bait, worms, etc). For fly fishing, try nymphs such as bead head pheasant tails, bead head hares ears, zebra midges, etc....also streamers like a bunny leach or a clouser minnow. I have great days in all types of weather. Probably a little overcast is the type of weather I have had the most success on. I have had great days when the white stuff was a fallin!Good luck.
Fish on!

Super-Duper's are deadly in the local ponds that they stock. I've heard they're effective in larger bodies of water, as well.
Yes the super dupers are magical...and the color matters. overcast days white or silver works best.
Sunny days...silver, trout brown, copper, and bronze.
I have thrown a blue fox spinner and cast masters with white feather tails and it seems to produces strikes.
Smithwicks are good but you have to find some slower water to jerk them through.
White maribou jigsheads pulled through deeper calm water worked almost like you're walking the dog, except with a straight pull motion is good. It doesn't catch as many fish, you need a little stiffer rod than a ultra-lite and you will miss some strikes, but it produces strikes from larger fish.
Line matters too. Try for low vis green. Clear cast a shadow and it spooks the trout.
As far as the fly goes I'd listen to Rich...I've heard zebra midges are the thing to cast.
