Lake Shafer

Wanting to hit Shafer in Nov if anyone has any helpful advice I would appreciate it . trying for smallies and LM total CPR. Thanks Joe

Pineview golf course and restraunt has a nice hotel its about 1 mile or so from the marina on the north west side of the lake. My best friend and I get together 4-5 times a year and hit various places and have went to shafer in nov for 4-5 years for smallmouth. Always have a cold but memorable trip. Check out the riverview bar nd grill the food is awesome, staff great looking forward to the trip. Hope we can figure them out this year

I haven't fished Shafer myself only Freeman. My friend lives on (The Big Monon) Shafer and always does oK. He both jig's and trolls a black jig with either a black or black with silver tail grub like Bass Pro P/N 38-461-640-93. I think he fishes the big monon a lot but watch out for tree stumps under water.

Thanks I appreciate the input. I am hoping the smallies are deep instead of up in the coves etc. I know this sounds nuts but I enjoy fishing deepwater plus you can find even smallmouth in one area when they go deep for the winter. I like the silver buddy, hairjigs and
grubs on light line. I am thinking about trying the float and fly if the water is clear enough.

Does anyone know what the water color / temp / or level is on Shafer?? Don't know what I am looking more forward too the fishing or a big plate of smelt at the riverview washed down with a cold brew
