9 years of your life gone

Man after watching the fellow just released from prison after 9 years of his life are gone and too find out they had the wrong man, Wow. I had to sit back and ponder how this man kept his sanity. You know the feeling.......You are right you know you are right but nobody will listen. Then imagine it's your life's freedom on the line...

My heart really goes out to this fellow and his family, what a tragic mistake, but at least now he can move on and be a free man. The system doesn't always get it right does it??

Didn't see that yet but have seen it before and shortly after the release a lawsuit pops up.
My most helpless time was during my divorce but that process was short lived!
I gotta find and read this article.

Just another example of our justice systems "lack of justice"...sometimes there is justice, but I've seen plenty of times where there wasn't.

I think it is horrid when an innocent person has to spend time in jail especially if he has no criminal record and has never been in the system before. I worked in a prison for 7 years and that was hard enough. It really changes you. Its a whole different world in there and the inmates run their own little world. To be innocent and live 9 years in there I hope he gets a big lawsuit for that. I dont know the circumstances and maybe somebody could post a link or his name so I can read about it. The money will help but it wont erase what was done to him in prison. Those nightmares never end.

It is rare for someone completely "innocent" to be incarcerated. I think this is one of those rare cases.

BUT if you go back and look at all the cases overturned recently with DNA evidence, you will find that a majority of the perps have rap sheets a MILE LONG.....You might not be guilty of the crime committed, but YOU'RE GUILTY none the less......

While I don't agree with putting someone away for something they didn't do, all these groups whining about putting people away for a crime they didn't commit should take a LOOK at just WHO they are freeing....Not only that, maybe they should take a look at how many of those freed are back behind bars for something else.

Criminals, for the most part are predisposed by LOTS of things to be CRIMINALS....once a thug always a THUG.........While this is not always the case, it fits the majority of cases.

This particular individual had ZERO on his Rap sheet and was basically a model citizen. This was truely one of those unfortunate cases. While I agree with your analogy you are way off on this one or at least what they reported on the news about this guy. He also came from a good family and has two brothers that are very successful business men. This was just a bad bad deal here all the way around.

By the way you can't Sue in Kentucky for wrongful encarceration, we have a state law that blocks it.

Shame it happens and agree it has to put a hitch in a guys psyche giddie-up.

Since he can't sue them for being wrongfully jailed, can the state decide to charge him for the free room and board he got

I mean when they thought he was guilty, the state "owed the prisoner" humane conditions. So if he's now deemed innocent, doesn't that mean the room and board was not his entitlement?
