We had luck this past weekend up in the creeks in the indian creek area. There were large jumps saturday about 10 EST and 8:45 EST Sunday which lasted about 20 minutes. There would be smaller shorter jumps periodically. We also caught fish the same days after the jumps fishing the same area from the surface to 25 ' deep. Mainly near the bank but the fish are in the middle too. Most hits came on planner boards 1/8 sinker with about 12 foot of line out. If we were pulling boards and saw surface fish nearby we would turn up the trolling motor and floor it over to where they were jumping...you can pull shinners pretty fast and they do OK.
From the reports I have read sounds like the fish are in many different places and being caught by various methods.
Not sure about this but I have meen using the smallest shinners I can find.
The bait I have seen on the surface in the backs of the creeks is 1.5 to 2 inches long.
