I've been in the wood's for a few week's now clearing logging road's and moving stand's around because of the damage left by the ice storm, what a mess. We own 50 acre's in hardin county and have access to another 250 to hunt.I've noticed the Oakes are dropping no acorn's,we've found just a few that are producing any nut's and they seen to be in the ceder thicket's. Did the ice storm have something to do with this, I wasn't sure if the Oak's produced the bud's for the following year's nut during winter or if the are produced in the spring when the leaf's are developing. The white Oakes we found are not dropping any, didn't find a single nut under any them that we found or could we see any in the tree's. Found a few red oakes dropping and they were protected in the ceder thicket's. This is what I'm seeing in my neck of the wood's anyone else noticed this, by the way the area my farm is in had about 1" of ice during the storm.
