Headed to Lake Cumberland on Sunday morning. We're going to hit the usual spots, but have heard the fishing has been horrible. Can anyone offer any advice?

I know the waters still a little warm but i'm gonna take my first smallmouth minnow fishin trip of the year down there next weekend....hope the bite turns on

I was down last Friday and Saturday. Early in the year and water temps still around 70 but I thought the cloud cover would help. Somewhat windy and cold. Caught 5 smallmouth on Friday between 3# and 5# on shiners. Caught where bluffs changed to points in 8 to 20 foot depths. Same pattern on Saturday but different area of the lake. Had 2 4# SM. Fought the wind until the last 1/2 hour before dark. 8# test seemd to do a lot better than the 12# line my striper fishin buddy was using. Hope this helps.
