    Gun Control really works Huh?

From the Australian Shooter Magazine this week, which is quoted below.

"If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers.
The firearm death rate in Washington , DC is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same period. That means you are about 25 per cent more likely to be shot and killed in the US capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the US , than you are in Iraq .
Conclusion: "The US should pull out of Washington."

I honestly didn't mean for it to come off any other way. I have tons of respect for those who serve our country, especially those that do so during war time. My father was a member of the 1st. Infantry Division during Vietnam and my grandfather spent a lot of time as a mine sweeper in front of Patton's tanks during WWII.

You came off just right. I posted the sites to support your post; it was very thought provoking. I am opposed to gun control and wonder what else those who favor it may try next. The Supreme Court has already removed Bible reading from the schools; how close are they to removing Bibles from our homes? Remember what religion Obama supports; the idea may not be as far fetched as some may think.

It is insane to believe that people kill people only with guns. Do they keep stats on how many die by knives, baseball bats, pieces of pipe, choking, etc like they do on guns?

When I think about the court being called "Supreme" it just sticks in my craw. There is only one who is Supreme and He handed down the Supreme laws to Moses on tablets of stone. jmo

Great post. I think we need put more emphasis on "Gun Owner Control, then gun control" Guns don't kill, people do. I think anybody who wants a gun and is properly trained to handle one should have one. How come you have to take lessons, and a test to get a car drivers license, but no classes and test to get a gun? A real estate agent has to pass a state test to see if he knows the rules befre he gets a licence. So, my thought is we ought do the same with new gun owners. Pass the "right to carry class and test", learn when its right to use it, and then get the gun. Just my thoughts.

Hey, does anybody out there know how to mount a 1200 yard sniper scope on a .32 Ruger Revolver with a 3 inch barrel?
