It is usable...use the side closest to Big Bear Resort (east side) the other side has a drop off where the concrete has separated.

Anyone put in at that boat ramp? Just curious as its condition and if usuable at current levels. Thanks Michael

it has a drop on the right side, facing the water . I use he other side, but have had little problems with the drop going extremely slow and knowing where it is - however, this is when the water is little higher. It is a faily low grade incline ramp - not steep, so if you are launching by yourself, you may get a wet, even if you walk the tongue - I usually have to back it in a little farther to load - almost to my back wheels of my truck are even with the water. But of course i am not loading with a high output 225 hp. like Dave is. His boat and motor set up with a 4 blade prop has some get up and go and can probably load with the trailer bunks barely in. I currently am loading a 17" glass boat with a 115 hp, so I can't depend on my horsepower to get it up to the winch.
I think he was asking about Little Bear. I used the ramp the weekend of the 10th and it was still usable. I think the water was a 356.
Sorry about that. I have seen people launch there in lower water, but not with bigger boats. It can be nasty loading there if there is a strong wind from the south or west. I would still use some caution when hitting the main lake from there - there are some shallow spots in open water just around the corner. I have caugh some nice fish there on that rock bank that runs on both sides of the ramp, primarily the one going towards the back of that bay. When the water temps start to rise in the spring, it seems like the spotted bass love to spawn there. I caught about 25 spotted bass there (maybe a few largemouth thrown into the mix) on about 30 casts there one day in early spring. I will always remember that day - I threw a few in the live well, until I caught a decent large mouth - and really inspected the differences that I have read about between the two species - they often look just alike, but I can spot them almost instantly now because of that day. FYI you can't always go by the tongue patch, I have caught some spots without them - but definitely a spot.
I was asking about Little Bear. I did put in there on Friday. The ramp is usuable in a 18.5ft boat but it does drop off. It loads better than it unloads. Dont think it will be very usable if the water drops much more.
