Tubby!!! Tubby!!!! Tubby!!!!, the ONLY coach UK has had since Hall with any CLASS at all FROM START TO FINISH!!!!!! One thing with "10 loss Tubby" as people called him right before he was ran out of town, he played no favorites, sat starters and star players for not going to class and other team violations during the regular season and during the SEC tourney. Class act all the way out the door, never said a negative word about UK, even when the signs were being put in his front yard and all the rest. One Class Act that I can say Sutton, Pitino, Gillespie and Calipari could ALL learn a thing or two from. I am a UK fan and always have been but neve like the way Tubby was ran out of town for UK and their arrogance was sure to get "Billy" and they got him too but it was Billy G not Billy D. Calipari has a fun style but rumors and allegations follow him around at every stop he has been at, collegiate speaking, not to mention the Bombshell attempt at the NBA. I think all programs "cheat", to what degree and to what extent is the difference. Some get caught and some don't but I do think all programs "cheat", meaning not following the rules 100% of the time. An extra phone call here, a letter there, extra practise time here and there, "voluntary" workouts that just happen to have all players attending.....they all cheat but to what degree. If Calipari keeps us off probation and can bring some class and dignity back to the program then that is enough for me. You will NEVER see the UCLA dominance of however many final fours and championships again by ANY program. Kids are different today. They care more about the name on the back of the jersey than the one on the front of the jersey. These kids have not played their first collegiate game but Wall, Cousins, Orton.... are already mentioned as one and done players with Wall being talked about as the overall number 1 pick. As far as I am concerned, go back to the way it was before, let the HS kids go and attempt the NBA draft out of HS. If they don't get drafted then too bad for them. Why is College Basketball any different than Baseball or Football, you can try and go pro right out of HS in Baseball but once you sign and attend college you are commited for a couple of years, Football does not allow them to come straight out of HS either and Basketball makes you be out of HS for 1 year before you can try the pros. Make it all the same, either let them go or make them stay in College a min of 3 years. How many of these kids that are one and done kids really make an effort in the classroom? Would you, if you knew within 8 months you were going to be drafted making Millions with no education needed, just skills. Off my soapbox now, the last part is not related to the thread but wanted to add.
