Went to Cumberland yesterday from about 7am-5pm, so hopefully this might help you guys who are going this week.
Water temps between 62-65F and very clear
Fished Indian and Wolf Creeks
Fished main lake points and secondary points with a little success
Virtually no shad activity in the areas we fished (probably just never got on them)
Thick fog, bite turned off at about 11am and picked back up later in the afternoon
We basically threw everything at them, but they would only bite live shiners. I threw every color of jig that has produced in the past with no takers. Topwaters, spinnerbaits, tubes -- no bites. We were able to catch plenty of spotted bass and smallmouth, and my father-in-law was able to catch a 3lb 2oz smallmouth on one of the first couple of casts of the day (came around 7am), but they would not eat anything but a live shiner. Dead shiners produced nothing.
