    shimano cumara

Has anybody had a chance to use these yet? Are they worth the money? i read up on them from basspro, they seem to be specifically made for wormin, which is one of my favorites. im just wanting some feedback before i drop that kind of money. also how do they stack up against other rods for this technique? whats the most sensitive wormin rod out there?

I read an article where Boyd Ducket canceled his sponser carrot stix because the rods there selling now are not the rods they started with that had a high level of craftsmenship and quality. He said if it had his name on it it would have to remain the same quality of rod and carrot stix kept taking shortcuts and trimming money. So he said he's done with them?? For what it's worth just fyi.......sorry if any spelling shortfalls, spellcheck down?

It is likely true about Duckett's leaving Carrot Stix concerning money. After all it's about the money, in most everything. However it is true that e-21 is having problems. lot of warranty issues and the rods are different shades of orange, when they can ship.

A friend owns a tackle shop and told me that his store has stopped selling carrot stix because of the warranty issues. A couple of the original investors pulled their support.

Perhaps E-21 can get these issues fixed. Hope so, lots of guys love the rods.

    Re: shimano cumara

It all comes down to preference , Cumuras are all I use for just about everything except for crankin..........and supposedly they are coming out with a crankin line of rods soon. The warrany is unbeatable that is what got me. 100% free , no questions asked , over the counter warranty. Ive busted a bunch of high dollar rods and I got tired of the shipping costs and another 50.00 every time .........My .02

Have both the baitcasters and spinning in my boat...works for me and my clients love them and I love being able to get a replacement same day at the local tackle shop.

Most sensitive rods you could ever possibly fish with. I love them more than any rod, and I have owned some top-notch equipment.

Like Mr. Stewart said, best warranty out there in my opinion. They are pricey, but worth every penny. Make sure you get one suited for the technique or application you will be using.

Like said earlier, they are introducing the Cumara Reaction models for cranking, along with other uses. The regular Cumaras are made for bottom-contact baits like worms, jigs, etc. By far the best jig and soft plastic rods out there. I'm anxious to get my hands on a Cumara Reaction to see what they are all about.

    Re: shimano cumara

thanks guys thats what i wanted to hear. i don't mind spending the money on a far superior product. i have 4 other shimano rods, and thats why i chose this one over the loomis was due to the same day replacement. a local shop in woodhill shopping center (lexington)has replaced a crucial for me. when i bought it from them they told me to bring it back if it broke. i was expecting THEM to ship it off and i would have it mailed back to me or something. when they told me to pick out its replacement, my jaw about hit the floor. IMO that is the best warranty and product "backing" a company could do. i love my shimano rods, but was looking into basically buying "the best", and this looks like it'll be my choice.

NOW WHICH ONE SHOULD I CHOOSE? this rod will be used for worm fishing. i typically throw medium to large plastics (brush hogs, lizards, and 7-10 worms). i have also started to throw some shakey head style baits with the rod this one will be replacing, so it will be used with some light finesse style jigs. im looking at the 7'2" model, but which one do you guys think would be best. also what action would you guys get?

    Re: shimano cumara

Again its all about preference but I like the CUC-X72MH or the
CUC-X68MH thats as heavy an action as they make in the cumaras. I think the actions are rated very well, for instance I wouldnt want to be punching mats with with either of the rods Ive listed but for around here they can handle anything I care to put them through.............Jarrod
