    Re: OIL to GAS rate

Now keep in mind, it wasn't by any means full before the trip on Sunday..main tank was a little less than a third full....so an empty tank might be expected. However, my concern is still with my oil sending unit and my engine. I don't wanna ruin my engine trying to get used to the charachteristics of it. Floatman that's kinda what I was thinking. Thats why I asked this forum. I want an experienced opinion so I don't get jacked at the marine mechanics. Thanks ALL.

    Re: OIL to GAS rate

Don't have a clue as to how much oil my motor uses, but do know that I top off my oil every time I fill up with gas. It may only be a 1/3 of a gallon or less but I do this as a rule to make sure I keep oil in the motor and don't get out on the water and have it run out of oil. Good habit to start even though I know my oil reservoir is well over a gallon and could probably go a few tanks full of gas before it gets too low, just started that habit back when I got my boat and have never ran out of oil ever. Right now the boat is in the garage full of gas and full of oil ready for the next trip.
