Some of you may know that I’m a DBA for a company in the Louisville Area. About 15 years ago, I created a little “database” that has become my fishing journal for EVERY trip I’ve ever taken.
Last week I decided to take some information from my KY Lake trips, and do some basic number crunching and take a look at the results.
Over the past 7 years, I’ve been to KY Lake about 50 times….The first few years I went 4-6 times a year, starting 2 years ago 8 times a year, and this year, 12 times a year. Here are what some of the numbers look like:
Average for the first 6 years was 32 fish per trip/day with 8 keepers per trip, and 10 100 fish days. This average is over 38 trips, and 121 total days.
10 DAYS out of 121 days where we caught over 100 fish.
Average for this past year was 86 fish per trip/day with 15 keepers per trip, and 9 100 fish days. This average is over 12 trips and 39 total days.
9 days out of 39 where we caught over 100 fish.
The increase in performance this past year is due to many factors, including more time on the water, etc, etc…but the single LARGEST contributor to the 300 percent increase in bigger fish and numbers is Dave Stewart’s familiarization and water elimination class.
If you have not taken it yet, TAKE IT…….
What you know, you will know better, what you don’t know, you will LEARN. Your fishing ideas will change, and your abilities will increase.
Dave Stewart………THANKS……
