    Balloon Landing Strip

My place must be in the direct pattern of prevailing winds because since I bought this place 10 years ago I have found a dozen balloons released by school children in other states and there are 3 or 4 more ballons hung up in tree tops I can't get to.
My son found one today that had a card attached that was from Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis,In.It said it was released at 9:00 am by a science class and we found it at 5:00 pm.(probably had been in the fence a few hours)I had one come down on my tractor while plowing several years ago that was from a 1st grader in Southern California, one from a middle school from central Colorado and several from Illinois,Missouri, and Western Ky.
I always write them back.No big deal, just a funny occurence I thought I'd share about.

Thats very interesting. I wonder why that is ? Maybe the jet stream stalls at your location or something ? The only thing I have ever found was a weather balloon. I sent in the box , and kept the parachute for my son to mess with , its great for action figures..

I find that very interesting Fanatic. You must be in some sort of wind tunnel cuz that is alot of balloons to land at your place. I think that is very cool and great that you write them back. Now if the big hot air balloons start landing there please get us a picture of that!

Dude, you gotta get ahold of the Sierra club or something. All that litter?? Not to mention, what if a bird eats that ballon? If it won't decay in the landfill, what's the chance the bird can digest it?

Just kidding around above... I think it is really cool that you take the time to write back to the school kids. I am sure they too appreciate knowing where their experiments end up. And hey who knows, maybe one of them will slip a $20 in one of those balloons. LOL
