    Cave run: 11/07

man what a windy windy day...started off the day looking pretty good my buddy and I saw a big Bald Eagle first thing in the morning...variable wind around 10 mph....by noon it was blowing 20mph with 30 mph gusts....made for a miserable day fishing on the cave...managed to get 5 bass in the boat biggest was 17"....I know if the wind had layed down we would have caught more...didn't see a single muskie...heard of one being caught...water temps were from 57-59, color was fairly clear with some stain...I couldn't tell if the lake was getting ready to turn over or if it already had turned? fish seemed to be holding tight to the cover mostly grass. I probably fished my last day on the cave for '09...pretty discouraging day!

Good report! Sounds like you might have done better if the wind wasn't blowing so hard.

Magicsmallie how was the pressure down there were there many out and are some of the ramps dried up yet. Last year I went down this time of year and had the same kind of trip windy, but I was bye myself and trying to get that boat tied up at the dock at scotts creek was pretty tough.

There were honestly far fewer boats out there than I thought were going to be there....especially as the day went on and as the wind picked up more...but actually the wind died down around 4:00 so when it came time to load the boat it was pretty calm which was nice...the only ramp that I think is out of the water is warrix. other than that I think the others are good...I put in at scotts creek.also I was told that TNT's shop would be closed the rest of the year (that is the one accross the road from scotts creek), so if you're going get your supplies and parking pass somewhere else.

Fished Saturday & it was windy. Didnt do any bass fishing, but i did manage one 36" muskie & raised another nice keeper. Water temp between 56 & 57. I dont think the lake has turned over yet, but it may be close to starting, I did see some cloudy water in a few spots.
