Great day on Nolin

It was a really pretty day, took a new person I met on line that didn`t get to fish too much. Left Brair Creek at the crack of dawn,took my little run to my 1st honey hole. 1st cast useing a white fluke,,,bam a 2 lber and it just went better from there,,caught 10-12 Ky`s right on the bank down a little 50yd bank,,missed or lost lest that. When down to the dam and started on the rock ledge at the cove,,,same thing bam bam bam. the next 10 minutes,,,7 or 8 more nice kys,,all of them spitting up crawfish. These fish wasn`t in a ft of water. Every one of my places I like held my fish like they alweays do,,caught most on flukes,,the rest on my magic worm (pumpkin/char U-tale zoom on a 1/8 oz jig) Found good numbers of fish every place I fished if you could find the right kinda banks,,,rocky ledges ky`s in there feedin on craws. I kept a limit for both of use to eat,,clean the Ky`s and EVERY one of them had 6 or 7 craws in its belly. And some of them had eggs starting to grow,,,figured itwas alittle early for that,,but they did. All total I figured I caught just myself..40-50 kys and largemouths,,nothing reall big but it was oh so fun,,talked to alot of people and most wasn`t catchin nothing,,but man it was a fun day

Good report Doug, keep some of that luck for DH or atleast save some fish catching stories to tell. lol We need to hook up 1 day soon to get some fishing in.

Hi Rd,,,anytime you want. Yeah yesterday was a blast,,The fish wasn`t big, but hey the numbers and the fun. Oh I got storys out the butt. I`m wanting to hit the river and get some stripers,,but I`m really looking forward to Dale Hollow trip..Let me ask you this,,are you up to useing some live bait at Dale? Thats the way I catch them that time of yr. That and Tubes. I`m hoping to bring my light and cast net and mybe catch some shad. I do know a few spots that hold smallies,,I`ve met guys that flat refuse to use live bait,but hey anyway I can catch fish, I`ll do,,I like to catch, not practice my casting all day...lol

Sounds like a blast! Way to go! I've heard good things about Nolin (at times) but I have never fished it. Now that I got the new boat, I'll have to give it a try. Any tips to a Nolin novice? Thanks.

well Rich,,it`s alot easier to show you then try to tell you if yoou`ve never been there,,if you get a free day, meet me at the dam ramp and I`ll show you around, I do really good on nolin,,catch alot of fish,nice fish and numbers when i go,,they aren`t no monsters,,but i fish for fun so i like catching anything..
