Pat, concur! Good post. And I agree, it has nothing to do with tolerance, it has to do with being an American and honoring what we as Americans cherish most. Justice and Life without persecution because of our race, religion, or gender, or national origin. Thats how it all started and how it always should be.

haha I love that Tyme, get the worst shots the Army has and lets see how many places they can hit that wont kill him instantly. That would be a slow painful death now wouldnt it? I hear shooting someone in the kneecap can be very very painful, lets start there.

Today I read he was charged with 13 premeditated murders. I do hope they charge him with the attemped murders of those soldiers that survived and are recuperating. I hope the trial is swift and that the execution is fast. No hanging around on death row for years in appeals. This is an opportunity to send a strong message to those radicals who are plotting as we speak.

FYI: Premeditated murder is the crime of wrongfully causing the death of another human being (also known as murder) after rationally considering the timing or method of doing so, in order to either increase the likelihood of success, or to evade detection or apprehension.

From what the news says, and the witnesses statements on TV, the fact that the guy took the time to get a gun, locate the processing center, then walked in an opened fire with what he knew was a deadly weapon, makes "premeditated murder", the righ thing to chrge him with. The bad news, the govt will have to "prove" he was "rational" during the trial.

A person suffering from PTSD is treated by a Psychologist or Psychiatrist. Wasn't Hasan a psychologist? Would he not be the first to recognize that he suffered from PTSD .

No he would not. Thats' the nature of the condition. It creates clouded logical thought and the ability to seperate real world and imagined/percieved events, situations, circumstances, and relationships while altering emotional responses. Just a fact, self diagnosis is always the toughtest to do, and always the least accurate.

Here's what bothers me most in priority order:

1st and worst. American soldiers were killed and injured.
2nd: It was a soldier who killed and injured other soldiers. Simply defies all we expect of our men in uniform and shakes our confidence in the military.
3rd: It happened on a US Army base that we all expect to have excellent security. It shakes our own sense of security when we see what we feel is the most secure place have such an incident.
4th: It was an officer who did this. We simply expect and have a right to expect more from those who we honor and entrust with authority.
5th: And lowest priority is that he was of Muslim descent. Only because I realize how sensitive all Americans are to that right now and it lays the foundation for over reaction. And yes, it has to be investigated to the extreme so we know what happended.

I just don't want to see my country jump to conclusions and start persecution of innocent people because of their nationality or religious affiliations. To me, if that happened, it would be the greatest embarrassment to our founding fathers.

What country is that? The country that voted in Barry? The ones who didn't? The ones who riot over justice or injustice being done to black people? The country that enslaved thousands of Aisians during the War?
The country that likes Nancy P and all her Lib lovers? The gays? The GOP? The left? The Muslims? The Christians?

What I'm saying is that when law abiding tax paying everyday americans get up in arms over something they get tagged as unamerican by Libs. Or called Nazi's...but when a minority group has a rash decision or expected decision it's called racism on our part to have our opinion. I still say to hell with P.C. and squish this guy and squish him good then go to the next. If the radical muslims don't like it tough. What are they gonna do fight us? Commit cowardly attacks on us? Yeah they laugh at us and our leaders pacifists ways these days.

You my friend had the exact same reaction I had. I personally believe in capital punishment, and support it when there is absolutely no doubt someome committed this type of crime.

However, and you knew that was coming, didn't you? My wife, who I have found is way wiser than I am, pointed out that killing him would be too quick and easy a punishment as opposed to making him suffer in jail. Knowing my wife, I know she doesn't think about torture, but I sure wouldn't take it off the table. Death is once and absolute. Torture and incarceration ensures the suffering lasts!!!

I know, I sound like a bleeding heart liberal most of the time, but I am not. I just don't condemn a whole group for the actions of a few... that is why I am still friends with some democrats!!! LMAO

Ok....I'm glad the guy lived to tell about it...now you all can call me what you want, call me a stupid redneck, call me an idiot, call me uninformed...call me non-christian or whatever you like...but my feelings about this guy who shot everyone up is that he should DIE! And to take this a bit further I also think not only feel should he die, but I also think he should recieve something like the electric chair, nothing humane by any means...put him in the chair, fry him and VIDEO TAPE IT and then mail the video to his Muslim cronies.

Don't feel too bad Bob. My paternal grandparents left Germany, actually far east Germany during a time that the Russians had control of the territory, so I guess I am more Russian descent?? LMAO. Anyway, My maternal grandfather was also German, but his wife, my maternal Grandmother had some Irish, a little Cherokee, and a few other nationalities mixed in.

But my maternal grandmother is not the reason I call myself a Native American. I call myself that because like you, I was born here in the U.S.A. I think that makes all of us who were born here Natives to this country, and makes us Native Americans. Thankfully my maternal Grandmother's ancestors had the foresight to include so many multi-cultural (yes I know that was redundant) ethnicities so I can be covered and protected from the PC crowd when I say I am a Native American!!! LOL

You're are absolutely right my freind. The good ole' USA did those things, and we ought be ashamed of them and not repeat history.

I do not believe in the old saying of "Kill them all, and let God (Allah) sort out the good ones."

I also agree with you that we as Americans should never take attacks just lying down. I think we ought act with justice, and precision, and take out the true criminals, the true terrorists, the true biggots. And before you say it, yep we dropped Nucs on innocent civilians in Japan. It was just about the only way to stop just as many from dying during a prolonged invasion including countless American GI lives.

Like most on this board, we'd all fight and die without a second thought to defend lady Liberty and our people. I just want us to do that with a clear conscience that we aimed the bullets at only the folks that deserved our attention.
