Cumberland in december

Never been to cumberland in december but I have heard its money for the smallmouth bite. I was curious if it's better to go later in december or earlier? and where to fish?... main lake or creeks?? was possibly thinking about christmas weekend...any suggestions are appreciated.

I fished last dec.26 &27..... We cause about 20 fish and all was on the float-n-fly. We was using a leader about 10-12ft deep. We was fishing about halfway back in the creeks on bluff walls. I cought the biggest smallie i ever caught it was 5-13. It was a fight on fly rod. Heard a lot of ppl catching fish on jigs but only caught one on it 3.5 smallie. good luck
