Birthday and No Hospital.....What??

Well fellas today is my 42nd birthday and for the first time since I turned 39, I am not spending it in the hospital. Turned 40 and 41 in the hospital but unless things don't take a turn for the worse before 5:35pm, officially when I was born, does not look like I will turn 42 in the hospital. Hopefully by then, my wife and I will be at Parkette in Lexington while I watch her eat her supper, since I can't eat anything except Ensure thru my feeding tube, and then it will be off to a movie for a Birthday/Husband Wife date night. I always did like Friday the 13th.

Elwood I read this post this morning and to be honest bro it almost brought a tear to my eye. I applaud your your positive attitude and enthusiasm, it's contagious. I think you take your health for granted, then when things go south you realize how good you have it. Congrats on your b day and your relationship with your wife & family. I know personally this day in age 2009 life is so fast pace and difficult at times things can be tough! No I'm going to take a deep breath and enjoy life......u da man bro!

Thanks for the comments. My son's birthday is the 9th, mine the 13th and my youngest daughters is the 17th. Last year I was in the hospital for all 3, 2 years ago I was released on the 9th but could not make it to Gattitown for my son's birthday party but at least go to see him on his birthday, back in the hospital on the 11th and released on the 17th so I got to see my daughter on her birthday. Worst part of last year is that when I am in the hospital with my staff infections they put me in isolation and nobody under 13 is allowed to see me so I did not even get to see my son on his birthday. As old as I am, just another day but really did not like not seeing him on his birthday but it is amazing that even though he just turned 6 on Monday that he is resilient and goes with the flow. I think all my illness and trips in and out of the hospital has helped him realize that things are not perfect in life and things happen at the drop of a hat. We see it all the time in where we plan stuff for him and then they change at the last minute and most kids would have a meltdown but he just shruggs it off and moves on with life. Anyways, glad to be home, hopefully my wound will continue to improve and I can actually do a little fishing in December before the next and most dangerous surgery of all happens in January. I still like Friday the 13th.

Happy Birthday to your daughter, an early Happy Birthday to yourself, looks like we have it all surrounded, my son turned 6 on Monday the 9th and my youngest daughter will be 19 on Tuesday the 17th.
