    Re: An Honest Op[inion

70 yds? amazing! I used to use a 13 ft noodle rod, 8 lb mono, and cast a 3/4 ounce cleo. and I doubt I hit 50yds, and this was in open water. But enough of that. ordered a 7ft med casting rod, and a magna cast left hander from bass pro. The reason I asked was because of the spin associated with small baits on spinning tackle, even with braided line. its annoying to make a long cast, and wind up with fouled bait.At my age I dont have thwe time left to correct those mishaps.Although the braid works much better than mono or flouro.

I honestly DON'T doubt that you can throw one that far....I know for sure that my dad can throw a rattle trap on a g-loomis with a calais right around 200 feet. so i don't think its a stretch those rattle traps have less resistance than most other baits and are weighted just right to be thrown long distances.....so I beleive you bassman!!!

I have seen in mag's before about guys surf casting 100 + yrds, they actually have tourneys for casting, but using bass gear 70yds is a push 70 ft you can get but 70 yrds. KVD was throwing around 60+ ft at ky and he can sling one.
