I said i would post a report so I am. Put in right at daylight this mourning and ran to the first spot up craigs creek.. VERY FOGGY and there are Logs floating so be careful while running. Main lake temp this mourning was 58.1 and it jumped to 61 when i left right before dark. The creeks are alot cooler. Fished in water as low as 53.8-57.4 up in craigs creek... quaker branch, long branch, and even marsh branch. Started out with float-n-fly and fished it for ahwile untill i didnt get a bite for 2 hours. Had 5 pulldowns and 2 hookups but never boated a fish with it. They are starting to bite, because i had a good ( had to be a smallie) fish hooked with it and she just come loose, and the other one just come loose also. Dont know what happened... The other misses were all my fault for just not paying attention. Out of 5 pulldowns every one of them made the bobber go out of sight... just to much slack from laying my rod down to get something to drink or not paying attention and them tightlining it on me..lol Fish are deep, we did end up catching 4 fish, 3 healthy spots and 1 largemouth. Not any size to them really but man were they fat.... They all come out of 20-40 ft of water. Im sure someone had some luck today but i was just enjoying a day out on the water and getting to throw the fly some.. LAKE IS OVER SUMMER POOL! atleast 3-4 ft over summer pool.Im sure that has something to do with the fish being so deep, i dunno. In conclusion, they are starting to hit the fly some and with some clippers and a couple weeks, it will be on! Did see signs of the lake turning over on my graph up some of the creeks so that will happen pretty soon. I could see the bottom flippin on my lowrance. Hope this helps a few people and if anyone needs anymore info just ask. Will be going to dale here in a couple weeks to fish so i will post again.
Tightlines,
Greg Stacy
