where did the Striper go in cumberland

I have been out 3 times this week with only one short fish caught. I have been in the back of the creeks( Lilly,Caney ) seeing them bust shad and not be able to get a one to hit any lure i got in the boat . I have also tried the middle of the creeks and the main lake.. Plan on goin out again in the morning ( depending on the weather ) and hope to have a little better luck. Taking a guy that has never caught one and hope he catches one.Any help is appreciated.

Stay in the heads of the creeks....fish are there. I would suggest going to Backwaters today before they close and pick up a couple of flitterbaits. The fish are keying on very small shad. We have limited the last 2 days with them, but had to work very hard to get them to hit.

We've caught them on bucktails, just rip them and let it fall, wham!! Throw it into the jumps. I'm sure that the flitterbaits( and other smacktackle lures) will catch them along with MANY other lures. I've caught two on Pop-R and one on a spook also on the last trip out. The key here is BOATS, the more boats, the more spooky the fish become. My last two trips have been where I pulled up on spots loaded with shad and no boats or one boat would be there. You can catch them when it's like that, but when 5-boats come in, especially those that come in fast and making alot of noise, the fish get very hard to catch.
    Good luck and god bless,
