I think intelligence would have to enter the scope at some point. How smart would a person have to be to know that if they didn't buy a Canadian Lottery ticket, it's impossible to be a winner?Intelligence doesn't necessarily have anything to do with it. The husband of one of my wife's best friends has fallen for at least three variations of this scam as well as two times depositing "good faith checks" and sending the money back to the Canadian Lottery (or whatever it was) to get his millions. He is a retired senior military officer and retired from a second business career. But, according to what his wife says he may be smart on paper but he is as dumb as a rock when it comes to his wanting to make money.
Someone said not to respond or reply to these emails, etc because then tney know they have a live one and, believe me, once someone falls for one of these scams the scammers know where to try again, and again, and again.
