You miss the point! I think all of us are ready for change. Some of the changes that I would like to see are for our political leaders to write bills not the lobbyist or special interest groups.
Our political leaders to read and study the bills that are in front of them not the lobbyist. To study a 2,000 page bill takes time.
Stop all earmarks. There is a lot of waste tied in with ear marked money.
Realize that it is more cost effective to buy bus tickets back to Mexico or where ever the illegals are from than to pay the high cost of medical as well as food stamps, education, housing, the loss of American jobs, increase in crime rate and the price that it cost America for imprisoning these folks not to mention the cost to some families due to loved ones being murdered or maimed for life such as my cousin.
You are wrong my friend. We want change because we are tired of corruption.
We want health care reform not more corruption.
I say show me change?
Sad but good post.Not at all...no offense to the folks there. I just see the United States as a different place than Canada.
I have read alot of comparisons with our system and others including Canada and we still have the best in the world. It's very hard to assess the real cost of their healthcare since there are so many variables but I have read that some people are taxed as high as 55%.
We need to tweak our present system not revamp it at the cost they are claiming. We will see no matter what they do we will all live by it. Just a little reading fer ya....

Great post Don.
Here's the most telling paragraph in the first news story:
The average Canadian family pays about 48 percent of its income in taxes each year, partly to fund the health care system. Rates vary from province to province, but Ontario, the most populous, spends roughly 40 percent of every tax dollar on health care, according to the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
This is where the Dimocrats WILL take this country. In Canada's most populous area you work close to 6 months of the year for the government. Their government spends 40 cents of each tax dollar on their rationed health care system.
Take a minute and think about that. Those are some of the most discouraging statistics I've ever seen.
Dag gone...ya'll think back to when you first started out from High School...think about how hard it was getting ahead (and it still is for lots of us)...but most especially so for younger folk since they have no real skills or experience...Can you imagine going back in time and the government taking practically 50% of everything you make? With this kind of percentage how does one go about obtaining things such as a piece of land, or at least a small 900 square foot, two or three bedroom home with a single bath? Tell me how a person can do this when the government rakes in dang near 50% off the top?The average Canadian family pays about 48 percent of its income in taxes each year, partly to fund the health care system. Great post GreenRiverMan, I agree with what you have said. Mself, the US will NOT adopt a Healthcare program from another country cuz every country is unique. What works in Canada or Sweden or Australia will not work in the US. Your Prez knows that and has said so when he comes up here to visit. Your healthcare reform is design for your economical and political structures already in place but it could use some positive reforms. Like the illegals. That is a big problem. But yes get rid of the corruption.You miss the point! I think all of us are ready for change. If change takes us further away from the principles established by our founders, than I am very much against it. A little socialism or communism is not good even if we are the one trying it. I'm for freedom. Freedom doesn't mean you wont fail or get sick, but it does mean that you do not expect your fellow citizens to take care of you. We used to be a country that encouraged our people to pull ourselves up by our boots straps and take personal responsibility. Now we expect everyone else to take care of us. All I want is to take care of my family. If we all did that, then there wouldn't be any need to steal money out of someone else's pocket. Instead of the government being heavy handed, it has to allow us to be successful. I would love to hire more help, but I think I will just work twice as hard. There's change you can believe in.
Oh man it's a perfect plan for them...they will provide you with a tax credit or subsidy to keep you hooked into the system.Dag gone...ya'll think back to when you first started out from High School...think about how hard it was getting ahead (and it still is for lots of us)...but most especially so for younger folk since they have no real skills or experience...Can you imagine going back in time and the government taking practically 50% of everything you make? Want a new car.... Cash for clunkers! Want a new House..$10k tax credit! That way they can dictate how equal we will all be.
Want to save money for your retirement....50% tax when you take it out to use it!
I hope the 58 year old put some money away, instead of PISSING it away on fun stuff.
I'm 43, and have put 10 - 15% away since I was 18..............AND don't give me that GARBAGE that you cannot...........WHEN I started putting 15% away, it was when I was DELIVERING PIZZA........I still put it away.
I've got two kids, have eaten my share of tuna helper and SPAM, and still managed to put enough away to live comfortably when I retire.
What I don't have is:
* I don't have a $40,000 truck with a NOTE
* I don't have a $30,000 boat with a NOTE
* I don't have a $100,000 house with a NOTE
* I don't have a $50,000 equity line of credit MAXED out.
* I don't have a $10,000 dollar credit card MAXXED out.
* I don't have 10 store credit cards MAXXED out.
I've NEVER been on a cruise, or to Hawaii, or to Mexico, or to Europe, or out West, or about a BILLION other things I'd like to do..........
If I don't have cash in hand........I DON'T DO IT.
SO.................58 and BROKE...........NO FREAKIN EXCUSE.
Sorry, but PERSONAL responsibility is a lost idea on Americans today.

Wow I am impressed can you walk on water as well?
I was RAISED to value a dollar.......and to SPEND it when I HAVE it.I hope the 58 year old put some money away, instead of PISSING it away on fun stuff.

I suspect there are more that are trying to do it right than the other way around.
THOSE that tend to not give a crap about their financial freedom don't care about their other freedoms........
Personally, I don't give a CRAP what you do with your money.......but LEAVE my wallet alone.........
