If in fact today is THE day...that we find out that ALL Americans recieve healthcare (which in my opinion ALL Americans already have healthcare to a certain degree), then it reminds me of an old Don McClean tune....this is the day the music died!

From what I heard earlier this evening on CNN, the healthcare bill will help only about 15 million people. The billion$ that finance it will be used over a ten-year period. Apparently the government has already targeted a specific group of people who will get the benefits and the rest of us will have to fly by the seat of our pants.

I admit I was nervous about the vote. But McConnel couldnt rally all 40 votes he had to have with only 39 showing up to vote leaving Lieberman running for safety. Ole joe, he knew where to hunker down. Dont really know what hunker means but it sure sounds good.

Hunker: . to settle in or dig in for a sustained period - used with down - Hunker down for a good long wait -

Call me insensitive, selfish, arrogant or what ever but I DON'T CARE about the 15 million who don't have healthcare as described by these fools. I don't care even just a little bit. Judge me as a jerk if you will but when I go to work and agonize at times over construction deadlines, my healthcare bills, my family and their bills, my daughter and her private school bills, my mortgage and personal life do I ever wish the gubment would help me? Nope!

I'm sick and tired of anyone thinking I should care about slack, low rent, illegals, welfare taking or gubment assistance abusing folks. When do the law abiding, American way system following folks get a break? All we get is you gotta pay for this group of people, you can't think bad about this group, just grin and bear it we are the richest people in the world, you got more to give. It's getting old....sad part is that people in this country are buying into it if their political party backs the idea.

It's a game and who actually wins???

Don, you and I need to spend a little time together in a bass boat, then followed up by several, several cold Miller Lites just before we hit the Wordford.

I find it funny we keep feeding and housing those who don't want to work. I'm not talking about the people who have fallen on hard times and need a little help so they can get back on their feet. How can you spot these people just look for the people who have several generations on assistance and never had a job.

Just curious. Slippedcork are you a buisness owner, do you have employees, and if so do you pay for their healthcare?

I'll go along with you and Don on this one. This is how I feel.

If you start feeding wild animals pretty soon they stop hunting for food and look for you to feed them always.

Some people can be the same way.
